17 Jan ‘Give and it will be given to you’ (Luke 6:38)
Helping Fr Anton Grech in realising his dream of building a home for teenage mothers in his parish in Izabal, Guatemala, in October 2018 we welcomed Kathya Juniethe and Carolina Muralles for three months in order to be able to explore and experience the running of Dar Ġużeppa Debono and other social institutions both in Gozo as well as in Malta. At times they also joined us in our community meetings.
When Maria Attard returned to Guatemala in February 2019, Kathya informed her that there were some youths who were interested in lay consecration. An initial meeting was held with the group. Two other meetings followed. As a result, Wendy Barrientos started a year of accompanied discernment of her vocation, at the end of which she made an official request to join the Anawim Community. On August 7th, 2021, during a special Mass celebrated by Fr Anton Grech and Fr Mario Curmi, with Kathya as her sponsor and accompanied through Zoom by the members of the Anawim Community, she started her three years as an Aspirant.
We thank God for this vocation and pray that if it is His will, she may definitively consecrate herself as a member of our community.
God keeps calling. May we be ever attentive to His way of doing this.

Vocational Promotion
Vocational promotion is required to convey the proposal for the value of life and for our spirituality to others and to help those who have heard God’s calling to respond to it willingly.
