Dar Ġużeppa Debono
Dar Ġużeppa Debono is a non-governmental association established within the Church and which as its own statute and autonomous leadership. Since it began to operate as a home for the protection of unmarried mothers, the Anawim community had an important role in the running of the House.
The Anawim Community, since its establishment, chose to focus its attention on the apostolate that addressed the unmarried mother and the baby in the womb. The Anawim Community does its best to commit itself in this specific field in unity and harmony with the Church and as a service to the community. It was in this spirit and with this intention in mind that the Anawim community operated from the Ġużeppa Debono Home and in obedience to the diocesan bishop.
The Dar Ġużeppa Debono Association has its own Board of Governors chosen by the Bishop of the Diocese of Gozo with a representative of the Community who is chosen from the Community Counsil and approved by the Bishop.
The spirituality of the Anawim Community since its inception was the soul that ran the House and it still is the force behind all the work that takes place here besides running the projects of the Dar Ġużeppa Debono Association.
